TekTag is a place for people to discover and share technical content from anywhere on the web. Before we started TekTag, we talked to lots of people . developers, IT staff, users, consultants . and some common themes emerged: how hard it is to find good technical content; what a pain it is to separate the good info from the noise; how forums can be mean-spirited and messy; and how remembering where you found something is often harder than finding it in the first place. Our mission at TekTag is to solve these problems. We started with an empty MySQL database and added tools to let people save the good stuff they find. We layered in tags and powerful search to help make finding things easier. To that we added a dollop of social features and some convenient ways to summarize and syndicate content.
